Deadmau5 rocks the hau5

The man behind the mau5 heads lights up Las Vegas with an electrifying set

Listen to Deadmau5 on iHeartRadio

There was a mau5 in the hau5 at the iHeartRadio Music Festival 2012 in Las Vegas.

Deadmau5 (pronounced dead-mouse for those that are still confused) aka Joel Zimmerman did not disappoint after he gave an electrifying set that had everyone in the MGM Grand Las Vegas Garden Arena out of their seats as they danced along to the beats pouring out of the speakers.

The producer/DJ was introduced by two very well known figures in the Electric Dance Music industry -- Pete Tong and Steve Aoki.

The set yielded an outstanding laser show, complimented by flashing lights, and the flashing iHeartRadio wrist bands of concert-goers, which all together absolutley illuminated the arena.

In a DJ booth raised high above the crowd, and as he put on his first mau5 head of the night, he started off the set with "Some Chords" from his 4x4=12 album. With every change in song, there was a change in mau5 head.

The crowd went crazy when Deadmau5 dropped "The Veldt" -- in the Tommy Trash remix! Toward the end of the song, Joel was rocking a mau5 head inspired by his well-known feline friend, Professor Meowingtons pHd.

The crowd's attention shifted to the main stage where My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way came out to sing his collaboration with Deadmau5, their brand new release "Professional Griefers."

The two went head to head, Deadmau5 on the decks, Gerard on the stage -- much like their video for the song that was playing on the screen behind the main stage. Both artists made the performance one of the more memorable of the night.
